  Classroom Environment

Creating an environment of respect and rapport
(teacher interaction with students, student interactions with one another)
Class Goal Sheet
Student Recognitions of Excellence

Establishing a culture for learning
(importance of the content, expectations for learning and achievement, student pride in work)
Individual Student Goal Sheet

Managing classroom procedures
(management of instructional groups, management of transitions, management of materials and supplies, performance of non-instructional duties, supervision of volunteers and paraprofessionals)
Tardy/Late Passes
Teacher Assistant Pro 2
(used to record student day-to-day data)

Organizing physical space
(safety and accessibility, arrangement of furniture and use of physical resources)

The digital lab I work in with students is arranged so students each have their own individual space to work. Students share digital cameras and scanners that are available in the room. During group activities, there is room for students to come together for class critiques and other activities. Safety is a priority in the room as all students are expected to follow class rules. The school discipline policy is followed with increasing interventions happening levels one (warning) through four (principal referral). In general, students are allowed and encouraged to support one another in their work and ideas by talking in class as long as daily goals are being met.
'Every child is an artist. The problem is remaining an artist once he grows up.' ~Pablo Picasso
